Thanks to Lyn Gaerlan, i just learned that what my mother called "bangbangsit" is also called lantana. Bangbangsit means foul-smelling, but I like the smell. It has a peculiarity like "marapait" (sunflower). In its literal sense, marapait means "bitter".

Lantanas are shunned by animals but attractive to birds and butterflies. They are useful as honey plants.
